Your library

• How do I import books?

  Tap Import Books and pick one or more PDF, EPUB, or .txt files from Files, including iCloud Drive and other providers.

  Or, in Files, Mail, Safari, or any app, choose Share → Folio. Folio keeps its own copy and never changes the original.

• How do I rename or delete a book?

  Long-press it on your shelf. You can rename it, delete it, or, on devices with Apple Intelligence, have Folio find its title. Your place in every book is saved automatically.

• Free books won’t load

  Check your connection and try again. Explore relies on Project Gutenberg, the Internet Archive, and OpenStax, which are occasionally unavailable. Books you’ve already downloaded stay on your device.

Reading

• How do I change the page theme?

  Go to Profile → Settings → Reading Defaults and choose Auto, White, Night, or Paper.

• The PDF text is too small

  Open the magnifier, drag it over the page, and pinch to zoom from 1.5× to 3×. Folio remembers your zoom level.

• How do I jump to a page?

  Tap the progress ring and use the page slider. Tap the middle of a page to show or hide the controls.

• What counts as a reading day?

  Turn at least one page or read for one minute. Today won’t break your streak until it’s over.

  Folio tracks your current streak, best streak, and last seven days. Pages unlock reading levels, and achievements celebrate pages, books, streaks, and time read.

iCloud and data

• How do I move my library to a new phone?

  If your version of Folio includes iCloud sync, sign in with the same Apple Account and turn on iCloud for Folio. Check the status in Profile → Settings → iCloud.

  Sync uses your private iCloud database and depends on your storage and connection. Without it, your library stays on the device where you imported it.

• Does deleting a book remove it everywhere?

  With sync on, yes. It’s removed from all your devices. Without sync, it’s only removed from that device.

• How do I delete all my data?

  Delete the app to remove everything on your device. To clear iCloud data, go to Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Folio. See the Privacy Policy for details.
